All About Beer Beertography Contest Winners

Wow, what an incredible batch of entries for this contest! Thanks to every single person that entered and to the fine folks at All About Beer Magazine for sponsoring. The submissions were staggering in both their amount and their quality. The beertography skills that you all possess are simply humbling. So much so that we've decided to hand out MORE than just one prize! That said, we had to pick a first place winner, so congratulations to @mollykinne for her submission of Upright Brewing's Seven! This shot just really sticks out, mainly because of the great use of color. Between the green of the grass, the red of the barn and the blue sky, it just popped. So congrats Molly, you win a one-year subscription to All About Beer magazine! You should also go follow Molly on Instagram because as you'll see, she's consistently putting out great #beertography!

How about a few more winners?? Each of the following people will receive a free half-year subscription to All About Beer Magazine! Not too shabby!

First up, we got a handful of amazing shots from Eric aka @BeardBeerBard. He also included this awesome Behind-the-Scenes photo of him setting up a shot, which I thought was a brilliant little addition.

So congrats Eric, you get a 6 month All About Beer magazine subscription! I love seeing the behind the scenes stuff because it shows a level of dedication that can sometimes be overlooked when running a contest like this. So, cheers Eric!

Wow, nice work Oliver! You're the other runner-up and will receive a 6 month subscription to All About Beer magazine! Cheers!

We really wished we could have picked even more but there were just SO many to choose from. You can still get yourself a FREE trial subscription to All About Beer by clicking here!

See below for a smattering of other fantastic entries, in no particular order:

Thanks to everyone who entered!

All About Beer Beertography Contest

We're excited to announce that we've partnered up with our good friends at All About Beer Magazine for a beertography contest! If you're like me, you have many beer publications that show up at your doorstep every month, but my hands down favorite is All About Beer magazine. No joke.

The fine folks at AAB have offered our readers a chance to win a full 1-YEAR subscription to the magazine! All YOU have to do is show off your excellent beertography skills. You know how it goes, so let's get down to the rules:

1. Tweet or Instagram your entry with the hashtag #AllAboutBeertography anytime between right this very second and Sunday November 17th at 11:59pm EST. Feel free to tag @beertography and @allaboutbeer as well but it's not required.
2. Your photo can feature any beer in any way you choose. This is really going to come down to creativity here so make it good!
3. We'll review all of the entries and announce the winner on Monday November 18th right here on

Make sense? Great! Now get to work. This is going to be fun. And thanks to All About Beer for sponsoring this contest!

Save the Ales Denver VIP Ticket Beertography Contest

So as you saw yesterday, we're having our first in-person Beertography Contest at Brooklyn Pour this weekend. But today, we're Manifest Destinying! I can't make it there in person, but Denver is a first class beer town. Maybe like me you're bummed you're missing out on GABF this year. But with the ticket debacle and how overwhelming the fest can be, maybe it's time to support smaller, more dedicated beer fests? How about one that benefits a great cause?

Next Wednesday October 16th it's time to Save the Ales! Benefitting Conservation Colorado who strives to save the environment. So let's see, you get to drink awesome beer and help out a good cause at the same time? That's a whole lot of win.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! We're currently partnering with Save the Ales to giveaway a PAIR of VIP tickets! All you have to do to enter is to tweet a beer photo with the hashtag #SaveTheAlesCO and one lucky person will win tickets to the fest! There are no guidlines to what kind of beer photo you can enter, but obviously more points for Colorado beers and of course creativity!

Oskar Blues, one of the Save the Ales Sponsors

Of course you can buy tickets as well here for a DISCOUNT but only until the end of the day today October 10th. Go get 'em now. Here's the details:

Where else can you get all of these goodies for a $45 VIP ticket (normally $50)?

Brooklyn Pour This Saturday with an In-Person Beertography Contest!

This coming Saturday October 12th, the third annual Brooklyn Pour is taking place at the Skylight One Hanson building in Brooklyn, NY. I covered this event when it first ran in 2011 and it was a great time in an extremely cool and unique venue. Check out the bank that houses the main floor of the fest:

This year, as you may have noticed from the poster above, I have the pleasure of conducting a talk all about Beertography! So not only can you attend this awesome fest but you can also hear me blabber on about how to take your own beertography (Spoiler Alert: it's easy!). To make it more fun, I'll be holding the first-ever IN-PERSON Beertography Contest. Anyone who attends the festival will be able to enter using a special hashtag and the winner will receive a Brooklyn Brew Shop Beer Kit as well as a Beertography t-shirt. You'll only be eligible if your photo is taken AT Brooklyn Pour between 2pm and 6pm so come on out!

There were also be other talks by three wonderful friends of mine:

Chris Cuzme on the Climate of Local NYC Brewing
Mary Izett on Homebrewing
Greg Avola, founder of Untappd on Tech and Beer

The VIP Tickets have already sold out but there are still a few General Admission left. Buy them here.

See you Saturday!

Labor Day Contest Finalists

Well, the Summer has officially come and gone and so has our (now becoming somewhat regular) Labor Day Beertography Contest. The level of Beertography that is going on out there is simply astonishing. I get so many unique and awesome entries, I wish I could have them all win. Alas, I can only pick so many as finalists. The truth is I was going to pick just 5, but I couldn't get it down to any less than 6.

So head on over to the Beertography Facebook page to see the finalists and vote for your favorite! In this, 1 Like on the photo is equal to 1 vote. The photo with the most votes by Friday at 3pm Eastern Time is the winner. Simple? Simple. Check out the full album of finalists HERE
